Dr. Hauerwas will speak on “How to Write a Theological Sentence”

Dr. Hauerwas, who also holds a Chair in Theological Ethics at the University of Aberdeen, is one of the most influential Christian theologians of our day. Time Magazine named him “America’s Best Theologian” in 2001. He is the author of over forty books, including "Community of Character" (1981), "The Peaceable Kingdom" (1983), "God, Medicine and Suffering" (1994), "With the Grain of the Universe" (2001), "Working With Words: Learning to Speak Christian" (2011) and "Approaching the End" (2013).

The Sikes-Melugin Lectureship in Religious Studies was given in honor of Opie L. and John G. Sikes and Ruby D. and Roy Melugin Sr., by their children and grandchildren.
